In Southern California, it seems like we are having an endless summer so that means I can display the Summer Curly Paper Wreath all year long. I long for the return to a year with more than two seasons, hot and cool, but in the meantime I can enjoy my Summer Curly Paper Wreath that is really easy to make.
Gather the following tools and supplies to create the Summer Curly Paper Wreath:
(These next 3 links are affiliate links which means I get a commission if you purchase through me.)
- Ultimate Card Making Tool Kit
- patterned paper
- stick pins
- foam wreath
- fingertip thimble
- Cut 6-7 sheets of paper into 1/2″ strips using a paper trimmer.
- Curl all of the strips using the bone folder in a similar fashion as curling ribbon with a pair of scissors. You can tighten the curls by twisting them in your hands.
- Attach the curly strips to the foam wreath by adding a center pin to each curl and pushing the pin into the foam using the thimble. Some curls will need 2-3 pins to secure the paper curl properly to the wreath form. Make it as lush and curly as you like.
- Attach a ribbon loop to the back of the form for hanging.
- Display your Summer Curly Paper Wreath.
Since I have a lot of scrapbook paper on hand, I have made close to a dozen of these wreaths for myself and my mother. Any color palette, theme or holiday is a perfect starting point to select and gather your paper for this project. It is so simple that you can make it in a few hours and even make these projects with your kids or grandkids. Before I know it, the Summer Curly Paper Wreath will be replaced with the Autumn Curly Paper Wreath and then Halloween Paper Ribbon Wreath. Meet me back here for more paper crafting inspiration and remember to be creative!
Editor’s note: I created this wreath using the patterned paper I had on hand.
