The Huntington’s three and half acre rose garden was first planted in 1908 by William Hertich. In the 1970’s, it was reorganized as a collection garden with more than 4,000 individual plants arranged historically to trace the development of roses from ancient to modern times.
We have just started the tour of the Huntington Rose Garden seen through my eyes. Next week, more roses to delight you!
Love thou the rose, yet leave it on its stem. -Edward G. Bulwer-Lytton
