After driving Highway 1, we made a stop at Hearst Castle. We have visited often and always find something new to discover. We picked an available tour and headed up the hill. On this day, there was a Sunset magazine event later in the afternoon so our tour was condensed, but we were allowed to wander around the property unescorted. How lucky can we be? We enjoyed our short tour of some of the cottages plus the wine cellar. Then, we were let loose to explore the property while Sunset magazine finished the set-up for their event. We explored some of the back patios of the cottages as well as the gardens around the castle.
A have a few more photos to share from our visit in the next installment. For more tour information, please visit the Hearst Castle site.

Hi Tina, I just wanted to say that I really enjoy your photography and what you choose to focus on. These are stunningly interesting images of that old castle and surrounds. As an aside, I also got a kick out of your red door series last year. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for the kind words. It warms my heart to know that people really do enjoy what I have to say and share. I don’t lead a typical Southern California life and it comforts me to know that others enjoy my journey.
