I had read an article in the newspaper recently about micro libraries. I was thrilled when I stumbled upon this one in my neighborhood and come to find out that my town supports two of these micro libraries. What is a micro library? It’s a “take a book, return a book” gathering place where neighbors share their favorite literature and stories. The mission of the Little Free Library is to promote literacy and the love of reading by building free book exchanges worldwide and to build a sense of community as we share skills, creativity and wisdom across the ages. I am fortunate to live in a town that supports the library, which is open 7 days a week. Being an avid reader, I visit the library often and love the idea of sharing books on a smaller scale. The Little Free Library has gained momentum and I hope it continues its mission for years to come. For more information, please visit this site.
