My father was sharing the love last week. My parents were preparing to leave town on vacation and he needed to survey the orchard to pick any fruit before the squirrels got to them. He brought over a large grocery bag stuffed with lemons and avocados. I separated our share and took the rest to work to divide amongst my colleagues. They were overjoyed and thought it was Christmas in April! The joy on their faces is unmistakable. My father’s hard work and care of his trees is brought forth tenfold in the fruit they produce. The lemons and avocados are unbelievably large and so tasty. Yum! Thanks to my father for sharing his bounty and bringing a smile to our faces.
I suppose there are people who can pass up free guacamole, but they’re either allergic to avocado or too joyless to live. – Frank Bruni
