Sympathy cards can be very challenging to create, but the Folk Art Tree Card is my go-to card for sending condolences.  When others cook and bake for the grieving family, I create handmade cards because I want to provide some comfort in my own way through my creativity.  It’s my way of showing that I care.

Gather the following tools and supplies to create the Folk Art Tree Card:

• Ultimate Card Making Tool Kit
• Folk Art Festival cartridge
• Swiss dot embossing folder
• white and pastel cardstock
• adhesive
• mini tape runner

1. Cut the white cardstock to be 4.25″ high by 8.5″ wide.  Cut another piece of white cardstock to be 5.25″ high x 4″wide.
2. Fold the larger piece of white cardstock in half lengthwise and use the bone folder to crisp the edge.
3. Run the white cardstock panel using the embossing folder through the Cuttlebug machine.
4. Cut tree from Folk Art Festival at 4.25″ in height.
5. Adhere the tree layers together using the mini tape runner.
6. Adhere the tree to the embossed cardstock using the adhesive.

The Folk Art Tree Card could also be used as a new home card or happy spring card.  With the two lovebirds and heart in the tree, you could also give it to a newly engaged couple.  Use your imagination to create your own unique card.  The Folk Art Festival cartridge is one of my favorites and I have created many cards such as the Folk Art Egg Card, Folk Art Rabbit Card, Folk Art Door Card, Folk Art Doll Card, Folk Art House Card and Folk Art Heart Card.
