While on vacation in Denver, we spent lots of time with our dear friends and I wanted to give each person something special as a thank you. Our friends’ daughter loves to make lists and keep notes so I thought this notebook would be perfect for her. You need the following tools and supplies:
- Composition notebook
- Assorted red patterned paper
- Red cardstock
- Circle punch and scalloped circle punch
- Xyron 510 machine and cartridge
- 1/4″ double-sided adhesive tape
- Red ribbon
Cut three pieces of red patterned paper for the front and back. Run these pieces through the Xyron. Adhere the top and bottom piece and end with the middle piece so it overlaps the other two. Trim to fit the book. Place 1/4″ adhesive tape over the black binding and red patterned paper. Place the ribbon on top of the tape and press. Punch to make the circle medallion for the monogram. Adhere a sticker or in this case, cut out the S from Folk Art Festival cartridge at 1 1/2″.
I purchase the composition books during the Back to School sales and often pick them up for 50 cents each. These books make great gifts for kids of all ages and can be personalized for each recipient.
